Treasures of the Opera House and the Secret World of the Steinways

Private Visit to the Opera and a Piano Repair Workshop

Although in size and capacity it is not among the greatest, in beauty and the quality of acoustics the Budapest Opera House is considered to be amongst the finest opera houses in the world. This is a must for every music lover! The neo-Renaissance opera house located, on the elegant Andrássy avenue was designed by Miklós Ybl, a major figure of 19th century Hungarian architecture. The building is richly-decorated, ornamentation includes paintings and sculptures by leading artists of Hungary.

There are 12,116 genuine Steinway parts that form the Steinway piano. At Steinway, every one of its parts must adhere to the same demand of quality that comes with the Steinway name. Throughout its life a Steinway needs careful maintenance however, there are very few of experts blessed with the talent to get close to these concert pianos. Do you want to learn more…?

Programme includes

A guided tour in the Opera House, and an interactive visit to a piano workshop with combination of a lecture and Q&A. At the end of the programme: private concert performed by Liszt Academy’s talented pianist.
